Chi boss Miles Rutherford again used the game give minutes to his whole squad, fielding more-or-less two different teams in each half.

The starting eleven attacked into a strong wind during the first period, after numerous missed opportunities it was Iordache, making his first appearing of pre-season who opened the scoring late in the half.

Chi won possession high up the field allowing Clack to slip in the Romanian who made no mistake with a crisp finish.

It wasn’t all one way traffic though with Rutherford’s men looking open defensively, although a combination of some good recoveries challenges and wasteful attacking saw the away side lead by a single goal at the break.

Clack and captain Connor Cody were the only two players to surface from the changing room at half-time for second 45 minutes that proved to be more one-sided.

With the wind behind them and a tiring home side, Chi created – and missed chance after chance in the second period before eventually sealing the win late on.

A tap-in by George Cody followed by a neat Clack finish after good work by Kaleem Haitham gave Chi the rewards their dominance deserved while a superb point blank save by second half ‘keeper Connor Kelly ensured a third clean sheet of pre-season.

So it’s four out of four so far for Chi who travel to Wessex Premier Division side AFC Portchester on Tuesday evening before tougher tests follow in the form of Worthing, Bognor Regis Town and Moneyfields before it all begins with Saturday 10th August’s Emirates FA Cup tie with Erith Town.
