Chi’s reward for Saturday’s memorable win over Enfield Town is a trip to Essex with their potential opponents situated just 8 miles apart not far from Southend.

The two sides will face off again at the Len Salmon Stadium on Tuesday evening having played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Bradley Warner gave Bowers a second half lead that lasted only three minutes before James White levelled things up for the home side meaning the teams will have to do it all over again for the right to host Chichester for a place in the first round proper.

Both sides competed in the Isthmian League North Division last season with Bowers & Pitsea storming to the league title and earning promotion to the Premier Division, taking their place alongside Enfield Town this season, where they currently lie 19th in the table.

In the competition so far Bowers have seen off Barkingside, Brentwood Town and fellow Sussex side Lewes to make it to the third qualifying round, a new a club record.

Canvey Island on the other hand, who made the third round proper in 2001/02, progressed past Stotfold in the Preliminary Round before needing replays in the following two rounds to get past Waltham Abbey and St. Ives Town.

The Gulls currently lie in 15th place in their division having won three and lost three of their opening six league fixtures.

The tie will take place at either the Len Salmon Stadium or Canvey Island’s Park Lane ground on Saturday 19th October, kick-off 3pm.

The club has confirmed it will be running at least two coaches to Essex for the tie, full details will be announced shortly.
