The hosts opened the scoring on 19 minutes when the attacker was allowed to tap the ball in from close range.

Chichester equalised on 40 minutes thanks to Elinor Williams’ powerful effort and only three minutes later, Molly Jones scored the winning goal for Chi.

Chi started the game quickly and created the first chance after two minutes when Jones saw her effort saved by the goalkeeper and Katie Long’s shot deflected wide.

Lisbeth Mottashed showed good pace to beat the attacker to the long ball over the Chi defence and clear it away from danger.

Shortly after, the Chichester defence were caught out by a long free-kick, but the attacker’s lobbed effort went wide of the goal.

On 12 minutes, Gaby Hobday did well to beat the defender on the left and play a dangerous cross into the area which found Williams, who fired over.

Seven minutes later, the hosts took the lead. The first shot hit the post, but unfortunately for Chichester, it fell to the Milton United attacker who was able to tap the ball into the net.

Chi looked for a quick response after going behind. Jones was able to pick out Williams in the box, but the No.9’s shot was off target.

K.Long went close to bringing the game level when her first-time shot hit the woodwork.

Chichester continued to pile on the pressure and this time it was Mia Gardner who shot wide of the goal.

On 40 minutes, Chichester did find the net, thanks to Williams. The striker did well to create an opportunity to get a shot away, which the goalkeeper couldn’t keep out, levelling the match.

Three minutes after the equaliser, Chi went ahead. The ball was worked well in the area by Chichester, and it eventually came to Jones, who found herself in plenty of space and made no mistake finding the net.

Chi came out strong in the second half and early on Jones saw an effort cleared off the line.

The home side thought they had equalised on 56 minutes, but the flag was raised for offside, keeping Chi ahead.

Charlotte Long did well to take the ball past the goalkeeper and find Williams. However, the opposition No.1 recovered just in time to make the save.

Milton United were awarded a free-kick in a dangerous position just outside the Chichester area, but the shot didn’t trouble Chloe Simmonds.

Jones almost scored a third goal for Chichester when her shot hit the crossbar.

A curling cross was played into the visitors’ penalty area, but Simmonds commanded her box well and claimed the ball.

Chichester were able to see out the rest of the game and claim the three points, which also secured back-to-back wins.

Chichester City Women return to Oaklands Park on Sunday 13th February to face league leaders AFC Bournemouth Development with kick-off at 2pm.
