Molly Jones scored the first goal for Chi after forcing the goalkeeper into a mistake and then tapping the ball into an empty net. The win was then sealed in the closing stages of the match when Gaby Hobday’s cross was turned into the net by a Woking defender.
It was the home side putting the pressure on in the early stages and Mikki Collins almost gave Chi the perfect start on two minutes when she tried to find the bottom corner, but her shot went narrowly wide.
The visitors had their first chance on 10 minutes, but the effort from the edge of the area was well held by Chloe Simmonds.
Five minutes later, Jones opened the scoring. The No.8 did well to force the goalkeeper into a mistake after some good pressing and she put the ball into the empty net, giving Chi the lead.
Chichester then went searching for a second and Katie Bundy went close, putting her effort just wide.
Good play from Chi on the right saw Katie Long win a corner which unfortunately came to nothing.
Simmonds’ clearance dropped to a Woking player who looked to find the goal from long-range, but Eloise Williams did well to get herself in the way and block the shot.
Moments later, Bundy got herself into a shooting position, but her shot was straight at the goalkeeper.
The final chance of the first half fell for the away side. There was a scramble in the Chichester box and Long cleared it away from danger. However, Woking won the ball back and continued the pressure, which saw a shot from the edge of the 18-yard box clip the top of the crossbar and go over.
Nine minutes into the second half, Hobday went close when she hit her shot just over after winning the loose ball.
Hobday was providing good attacking play for Chichester on the left and she did well to skip past the defender and put a low cross into the six-yard box, but there wasn’t a green and white shirt there to direct it towards goal.
A clearance from the Chi defence was blocked by a Woking midfielder and it almost ran through to the attacker, but Simmonds was alert and out quickly to get to the ball first.
The Cardinals continued to look for an equaliser and on 77 minutes, Long was required to make a vital tackle to stop the attack.
In the final stages, Chichester sealed the three points. Hobday was able to cut into the area and play a low cross towards Maya Butler, but it was turned into the net by a Woking defender.
The result sees Chi move up to third in the table with two league games remaining.
