Miles Rutherford and Darin Kilpartrick went with the same starting XI that drew 2-2 against Cray Valley Paper Mills at Oaklands Park last time out with Emmett Dunn, Mo Jammeh, Olly Munt, Joe Clarke and Jake Scrimshaw on the bench.
The Tags thumped Chi 4-0 in November at Oaklands and here in Aveley new dad, skipper Rob Hutchings, played a forward ball to top scorer Jimmy Wild in the first minute who won a throw.
Then keeper Kieran Magee was forced into a save to deny Josh Osude 60 seconds later.
Centre back Ben Pashley got caught in possession as the hosts pressed once again and Hashtag earned a throw in. Matt Wooldridge took this long but Sakariya Hassan was adjudged offside.
Next, Pashley, Curtis Da Costa and Lloyd Rowlatt combined only for the final ball to be cut out by Mert Apat.
Wild had a real chance five minutes in after Isaac Bello crossed and then smashed the ball onto the woodwork for a Tags’ goal kick.
The home side threatened once again when Osude and Ayo Olukoga linked up for a delivery which Joe Moore intercepted, and Hashtag captain Max Cornhill got flagged offside.
A delivery from Luke May-Parrott, who bagged a hattrick against Folkestone Invicta on Sunday, went out for a corner off Hutchings, Joshua Rusoke whipped this over and Magee claimed a Hashtag header.
The rapid Osude broke again and Chi had to clear after May-Parrott crossed and a poor ball from Apat looking for Osude went out for a Chichester throw.
Rowlatt attempted to find a marauding Ryan Davidson only for the pass to go out of touch.
Magee, putting in a fine performance, saved Hassan’s effort on 14 and then was called on once more to deny an opening goal and keep the ball in.
Charlie Bennett couldn’t pick Rowlatt after combining with Hutchings and Ethan Prichard.
Cornhill hit a long pass forward which was gathered easily enough by Magee and Pashley and Hutchings hooked up to win Chi another corner off Olukoga.
Prichard took this long for Davidson to make a header but Jack Giddens held this without any more trouble.

Rowlatt’s lovely tackle prevented Man of the Match Wooldridge advancing before Wooldridge and Harry Hayson played a one-two for a shot which was blocked.
Osude got a talking to by referee Elliott Mayer for a foul on Hutchings on 20 minutes and at the other end Giddens pulled off a fine stop with his feet to deny Bello after an impressive run.
Prichard whipped over the resulting corner and Bennett headed over.
Wild turned as the game swung back and forth but lost control and Davidson tidied up when the hosts pressed again
Bello was fouled by Osude and the teams exchanged a couple of throw-ins before Magee parried an Alex Bolovan shot,
The Tags won two free kicks for indiscretions by first Rowlatt and then Hutchings, and Hassan’s cross into the box was claimed safely by Magee.
On the half hour mark Rowlatt had a shot on the turn which went out for a goal kick and a foul by Bennett on Wooldridge led to a set piece and a following cross which the Chi back line headed out for a Hashtag corner. Dead ball specialist Rusoke once again took it and Magee gathered.
Then on 33 the home team scored the opening goal through Osude from close range after Rusoke and May-Parrott combined for a decent delivery.
Bello got the visitors going with a long throw unsurprisingly that Giddens had to punch away and his follow up cross was too long and drifted out for a goal kick.
Osude outmuscled Rowlatt and May-Parrott won a corner which Hassan took short to May-Parrott who found Bolovan only for the No10’s effort to cannon off the crossbar.
Olukoga had to block a Chi shot before Haysom drove into the box following a neat one-two and Magee saved.
Then Hutchings got a talking to by Mr Mayer for a foul and Osude tried an outrageous overhead which was blocked before the home side was flagged offside.
Both sides probed in the five minutes before half time without causing any further problems.
Dunn and Jammeh were introduced at the break for Rowlatt and Bennett and Bello made an interception to concede a Hashtag throw.

Magee claimed an Osude cross low down on 48 before Wild lifted the ball over Giddens with the leveller to make it all square a minute or so later with his 26th of the season in all competitions.
Jammeh had a chance to give Chi the lead in the next attack but the ball went out for a Tags’ goal kick.
Next, Prichard planted one on the roof of the net after good work from Dunn and the away team won a set piece after Moore was fouled by Bolovan.
Osude went down following a coming together before Bello launched a bomb of a throw and Da Costa picked Hutchings in the box only for Giddens to gather.
Prichard fired one over the bar and the influential Wooldridge and Osude combined but it went out for a Chichester goal kick.
Then Hassan got in only for Magee to pull off a save a minute ahead of the hour mark and defender Da Costa had a move to cut out as the home side tried their luck again.
May-Parrott had the ball in the back of the net but it was ruled out for offside and Hutchings held off Osude and tried to find Wild only for the ball to be shepherded back to Giddens.
In the 66th minute a poor clearance fell to Bello who picked an offside Wild whose goal was similarly chalked off for offside too.
Giddens claimed a Bello long throw and Prichard’s hit didn’t trouble the Tags’ keeper.

Wild spurned a real chance on 70 minutes and pulled his effort wide of the goal before hooking up with Jammeh for a Davidson delivery which Giddens gathered.
The Hashtag custodian then collected as Jammeh sought to play Wild in and Prichard struck another go wide of the target from long range.
The Tags rang the changes bringing on Percy Kiangebeni and Djemaili for Olukoga and Bolovan in the 78th minute.
Prichard and Bello exchanged passes and won a corner which Prichard delivered and Hashtag smuggled away.
Olly Munt replaced an injured Bello for the last ten of normal time and Pashley picked Wild who was flagged offside.
Both sides swapped throws as they looked for a winner; Clarke came on for Moore; and Osude almost got in when Pashley lost possession.
It was end to end now and a Hutchings’ foul on Wooldridge led to a booking and a free kick but Dunn headed away Hassan’s dead ball.
Jammeh also cleared and Magee gathered a Wooldridge cross before Prichard nearly picked Wild only for Giddens to make it first.
And then in the fifth minute of time added on Osude and Hassan linked up and found Djemaili who crashed it in at the death.
So, the unbeaten run is over with Chichester eighth in the table. They travel to Folkestone Invicta on Tuesday 25th February (Kick Off 7:45pm).
