There was just the one change to the Chi starting XI which lined up in that memorable 4-1 victory away at Bognor on New Year’s Day as Jammeh got the nod ahead of Lloyd Rowlatt, who dropped to the bench alongside Jamie Hornacastle, Olly Munt, Joe Moore and Finlay Chadwick.
The hosts started brightly with top scorer Jimmy Wild winning a throw in the opening minute after good work from Emmett Dunn.
Isaac Bello launched this long and first Rob Hutchings and then midfielder Joe Clarke had shots that were deflected for another Bello bomb.
Jammeh got on the loose ball from this and steered it beyond Joe Wright in the Chats’ goal to put City 1-0 up.
Jordy Robins for the visitors was caught and the free-kick fell to former West Ham, Crystal Palace and Ipswich player Freddie Sears following a cross from Jordy Mongoy but Sears headed over.
Next, Jammeh was impeded by Robins and Prichard picked the Chi No10 for a delivery that drifted out for a goal kick.
Prichard got bundled over by Robins for a Chi set-piece on six minutes and Bello and Wild combined for a cross which was cleared in the box.
Man of the Match Ben Pashley then played the ball short to fellow centre back Curtis Da Costa who was tackled, unfairly by Jamie Yila as referee Thomas Berry saw it, for a soft home side free-kick.
In the following move Bello made a great turn only to be fouled by Robins which came to nothing as did a couple of forward passes by both teams.
The hosts won a throw that Bello launched once more and Wild got flagged offside.
Skipper Rob Hutchings was hacked down by Miquel Scarlett for the first yellow card of the match – one that would come back to haunt him.
Prichard took the resulting set piece and Chi rebuilt only for Wright to collect.
Then Mongoy and the impressive Yila combined and took on Pashley but Clarke made a clearing header.
And in the 20th minute Scarlett rather harshly got his marching orders for a second yellow card tackle on Hutchings.
A man and a goal down the Kent side faced an uphill battle against opponents one place below them in the table.
Prichard had a go sixty seconds later but Wright was equal to his effort before Jack Evans got a talking to for a foul on Hutchings again.
Clarke, Bello and Wild hooked up in the next Chi attack but it fizzled out and Yila took on right back Ryan Davidson but the ball went out for a Chats’ throw and then a poor cross.
Dunn was up well against Kian Garlinge as we neared the half hour mark and Clarke cleared once more for a Chatham throw this time.
Chi keeper Kieran Magee saved comfortably when Sears had a crack and his counterpart Wright denied Hutchings at the Archery End.
Dunn linked up with Davidson after a one-two that resulted in a header from the Canadian wide of the mark.
And Davidson made a block as the away side pressed and had a go.
Jammeh was booked 32 minutes in for a rather tame tackle on Yila only for Evans to fire his free-kick off target.
Next, Bello conceded a throw up against Kasim Aidoo and Prichard pulled a save out of Wright for a Chichester corner.
This was mishit by Hutchings, although Prichard played the ball back in for an offside Da Costa.
Prichard then lost the ball trying to get in and shoot and Robins was booked for a foul on Jammeh.
Wild controlled Hutchings’ subsequent set-piece brilliantly with his chest but his shot went wide of the post.
Chatham, still dangerous on the attack, posed a real threat when Mongoy crossed but the subsequent shot from Garlinge was poor.
And in time added on Bello was oddly booked, with the assessors looking on, for a seemingly fair challenge on Aidoo.
The same Chi player was adjudged to have fouled Sid Nelson straight after the interval and Mr Berry awarded a free-kick in the Chats’ penalty area.
Jammeh then forged a decent opportunity after a slick multi-player move but Wright pulled off a fine stop 5 minutes in.
A foul from Valckx Fernandes led to a set-piece for the hosts and then Prichard blazed one way over.
Pashley did superbly up against Sears on 53 and an Evans’ pass got headed out for a throw.
Yila had an effort deflected for a Chatham corner by Magee who easily claimed the second one when it came in from the College Lane side.
Dunn got up well moments later as Chi dug in to protect their slender lead and Yila’s pass was cut out, and Hutchings went on a run and over in the box – no pen decided Mr Berry.
Davidson then broke down the right only for Dunn to hit a poor pass and on the hour sub Kareem Isiaka wasted a good chance after Pashley half cleared.
Evans was carded for a foul on Dunn in the 61st minute and Sears was exchanged for Rowan Liburd.
A Hutchings’ free-kick got diverted out for a home side corner which Hutchings delivered only for Wild to send a bullet header wide of the upright.
Magee made another save on 64 to deny Evans and Jammeh was fouled following a brilliant pass. The consequent shot from Prichard went narrowly wide of the mark however.
And then the ball wouldn’t quite sit up for the Chi No11 in the following move that saw Bello strike a lovely cross.
Yila probed again and won a set-piece which Evans took but to no avail before Bello conceded a corner which the visitors headed just wide.
Magee cleared another Yila pass in the 72nd minute and with Chi sitting deep the away side won a couple of corners on either side, one of which Magee gloved away.
Lloyd Rowlatt was introduced for Jammeh on 77 with Mongoy coming off for Kofi Anokye Boadi.
The Chi sub, with three goals in his previous five games, missed a glorious chance to double the lead after neat play from Bello when Wright made a superb save.
Another Evans’ free-kick got cleared as we headed towards additional time and Clarke unfortunately headed over after Dunn was impeded.
Olly Munt replaced Bello two minutes from the end of normal time and Chi diverted the ball away as Aidoo and Yila pressed.
Wild missed a guilt-edged opportunity after good work from Prichard; Yila won a corner off Hutchings; and Davidson headed clear; before the Chi captain went on an amazing run and squared to Prichard for the all important second goal in the 92nd minute.
There was till time for Liburd to head narrowly wide and come off injured to be replaced by Alex O’Leary just before the final whistle went.
So, Chi’s fifth win in a six-game unbeaten run takes them up to sixth spot.
